Inspired by God, you found the way to contemplation through the practice of virtue: you became a perfect teacher of truth, fighting for the faith to the shedding of your blood. Guide of Orthodoxy, mirror of piety and exemplary behavior, bright light of the universe and adornment of pontiffs, you enlightened us all by your teachings. O wise (name), inspired by God and instrument of the Holy Spirit, intercede with Christ God that He may save our souls.

Troparion of a Father of the Church (tone 4)

O God of our Fathers who always deal with us according to your everlasting compassion, do not take your mercy away from us, but through the prayers of our Fathers, guide our lives along the ways of peace.

Troparion of a Martyr (tone 4)

O Lord our God, your holy martyr (name) has deserved the crown of immortality on account of his good struggle. Armed with your strength, he has vanquished his persecutors and crushed Satan's dreadful might. Through his supplications, O Christ God, save our souls!

Troparion of a Monk (tone 8)

Your abundant tears made the wilderness sprout and bloom in spirituality. Your sufferings made your labor fruitful a hundred-fold: you became a shining torch over the world. O Holy Father (name), pray to Christ God that He may save our souls.

Troparion of a Priest-Martyr (Hieromartyr) (tone 4)

O Holy Priest-Martyr (name), master of unction, measured in all things, clothed with a right conscience as befits a priest: you drew ineffable truths from the Vessel of Election. You have kept the faith and completed a course equal to Christ's. Intercede with Him that He may save our souls.

Troparion of a Recluse (tone 1)

You made the wilderness your dwelling-place, O Father (name), the Bearer of God! You became an angel in the flesh and a wonder-worker. Through fasts, vigils, and prayers, you obtained from God special graces to heal the sick and sanctify the souls of those who come to you with trust. Glory to the Lord who gave you strength! Glory to the Lord who crowned you! Glory to the Lord who, through your intercession, grants healing to all!

Troparion of a Stylite (tone 1)

You became a column of endurance and rivaled the forefathers, O Holy One, becoming like Job in your sufferings, like Joseph in your trials, like the bodiless angels though still alive. O (name), our Holy Father, intercede with Christ God that He may save our souls!

Troparion of a Venerable (tone 8)

In you, O Father (or Mother) (name), the faithful image of God shone forth, for you carried your cross and followed Christ. You taught us by your deeds how to spurn the body, for it passes away, and how to value the soul, for it is immortal. Now you are forever happy with the angels.

Troparion of a Woman-Martyr (tone 4)

O Jesus, your lamb (name) cries out to you with great love: "O my Bridegroom, I long for You in great pain, I am crucified with You, and in baptism, I am buried with You. I suffer for your sake in order to reign with You, I die for You in order to live in You. Accept me as an immaculate victim, since I am immolated for your love." Through her intercession, O Merciful One, save our souls!

O Holy Apostle (name), intercede with God all-merciful, that He may grant us the remission of our sins.
