+Father Basil fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, May 10th,
2003. He will be greatly missed by his parishioners, his friends and fellow clergy. In blessed repose, grant, O Lord, eternal rest to the soul of Your departed servant
+Basil, and remember him forever.

My husband and I are former parishioners who recently moved to Wisconsin. We
only just learned of Father Basil’s passing and are devastated by the news.
It is a huge loss to the congregation and to the Byzantine rite as a whole.
He was very instrumental in helping our faith along when we first converted
to Byzantine Catholicism two years ago. Words cannot express how much he
meant to us. It suffices to say he will be in our hearts forever.

Fr. Basil was my
uncle, my fathers' brother. I was so sad to learn of his passing last
Friday. He touched so many lives in so many ways. He will be very deeply
missed by all those who knew him. He enjoyed life to it's fullest, and
that's how I will always remember him.
I will always remember you deep within my heart, I Love you Skippy!

I was
referring to the site in terms of sites I worked on, and I just read the
note about Fr Basil. I am shocked. I can't believe it-- it seemed like only
yesterday I called him! He wasn't even old, at least I thought... how time
passes.... He would have wanted to know the new baby's name is Matthew.

I was deeply
saddened to hear of the passing of Father Basil. His reputation as a fine
iconographer and liturgist was known even on the West Coast.
May His Memory be for a Blessing to Many!

Dear Fr Basil:
Thank you for so many years of friendship going all the way back to 1959
when you gave me the world's most memorable hug (the first of a million!)
You took me on my first otpust to Uniontown on the Philadelphia bus... You
brought so much joy and laughter to so many and you taught me so very
much..you were really quite wise...your falling asleep leaves me and so many
others with "placati ochee" & a very heavy heart.
The Greek-Catholic World will never quite be the same again!
We love you and miss you deeply."Blessed is the way in which you shall walk
today, O soul, for a place of rest is prepared for you..."
love, tc & evelyn

I
was very saddened to learn of Fr Basil's passing in our parish bulletin
today (St Nicholas, 6/16). He was a great comfort in my family's bereavement
last year (2001), and I will always be grateful for that. A very lovely man
with a great sense of humor too! Deepest sympathies to all his parishioners,
family and friends.
In this blessed sleep, O Lord, grant eternal rest to Thine ever-remembered
servant Basil, and make his memory to be eternal!
Eternal memory! Eternal memory! Eternal memory!
And his soul shall dwell among the blessed. Amen.

I just wanted to add my
comments regarding Fr. Basil. Fr. Basil was one of my best friends and role
models for priesthood. I learned quite a lot from him and will greatly miss
him. God grant him Blessed Repose and Eternal Memory!
