Tropar to St. Anne

Tropar Tone 4

Anne divinely wise, *
You carried in yourself the Mother of God, *
The Immaculate One who gave life to Life; *
Wherefore you now have been carried up joyfully *
To the inheritance of heaven, *
To the abode of those who rejoice in glory, *
O ever-blessed one, *
You seek the forgiveness of sins *
For those who honor you with fervor.

Christ is risen! Indeed, He is risen!

Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Welcome to the homepage of Saint Anne Byzantine Catholic Church in New Port Richey, Florida.  We are an Eastern Catholic Church (Ruthenian) in communion with the Patriarch of the West, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.   Byzantine Catholics are (to quote +Pope John Paul II) "Orthodox Christians in communion with Rome".   At St. Anne, we celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the English language.

Eastern Catholics are the Catholic Church's best-kept secret in the United States.

Many people do not realize that the Catholic Church is actually composed of some 23 different Churches sui juris. While the Roman Catholic Church is by far the largest and most powerful of these 23 churches, it is only a part of the whole Catholic Church.

Each of the 23 churches belongs to a Rite, or follows certain specific liturgical traditions.

There are several Churches, including the Ruthenian, the Melkite, and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, to mention a few and we share in the inheritance of the Byzantine Religious Culture of the Christian East.  We use the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil for  worship services. Liturgical traditions from Greek and Slavic cultural backgrounds have been preserved within our Churches, therefore the Divine Liturgy (Mass) resembles a Greek or Russian Orthodox service. Communion is received under both species (bread and wine).

All Catholics  are welcome to come and worship with us and attendance fulfills Sunday obligation.
